- Professional Dress & Appearance: As a business college, we require students to be in business attire during class and on the golf course. Slacks, golf shirts, sweaters, and wind breakers, customarily recognized as golf attire, will be permitted. - Dress for Success Fridays: Students must purchase a PGCC blazer and tie to be worn to class on Fridays. Women are also required to purchase a PGCC blazer.
- Attendance: Classes are held Monday thru Friday from 8:00AM – Noon. Regular attendance is essential for academic progress and success in your golf career. Absences may jeopardize a student’s ability to complete their program in a timely manner. PGCC encourages 100% attendance, and requires a minimum of 80% attendance for graduation.
- Career Placement: PGCC does not guarantee placement for a job for any student. We work with and try to help each student in placement. It is the student’s responsibility to work hard and follow the Placement Director’s suggestions in finding employment. Students need to prepare their resume, confer with the Placement Director and follow up on leads provided by the college.
- Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program: To prevent drug and alcohol abuse, PGCC prohibits the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of drugs and alcohol including but not limited to recreational drugs and any form of marijuana by students and employees on school property, or as part of the school’s activities.
- Drug Screening: All students may be tested for drug use. Failing the test will result in immediate counseling. A second positive test will result in immediate termination.
- Student Conferences: Each student will have a private conference with a director/class coach each semester. The purpose of these is to discuss performance, goals and career choices.

The Difference Between PGCC and GAA
While both the Professional Golfers Career College and your former program Golf Academy of America are vocational colleges which offer Associates Degrees in Professional Golf Management geared to prepare you for a career in the golf industry, there are difference between the colleges. We’ve listed some of the aspects of our program at PGCC which differ from GAA below.
- Classes til noon, golf 7 days a week. At the Professional Golfers Career College all classes are held Monday thru Friday in the morning from 8AM to 12PM, which allows our students to play golf seven days a week.
- PGCC has a structured course sequence, with each semesters classes already determined. We currently do not have electives or afternoon courses. Each day students will attend two classes which each run two hours with a 10 minute break every hour.
- Books are not included in your tuition costs at PGCC. We will provide you with some classroom resources but you will be required to purchase books, which typically average between $150-$250 per semester
Housing
Professional Golfers Career College refers students to local housing providers, allowing our students to have an array of options for housing, on a first-come, first-served basis. The apartments rented are fully-furnished, and non-smoking, from local apartment communities, and are leased to students on a double-occupancy basis. For those that wish to take part in this housing program, the providers take an active role in helping to suitably match roommates.
